WEST POINT, NY - The Sacred Heart Pioneers men's ice hockey team will face off against Mercyhurst for the fourth time this season in the semi final round of the Atlantic Hockey Tournament. The game is scheduled to get under way at 7:45 pm from West Point, NY.

Sacred Heart vs. Mercyhurst in the Regular Season: Pioneers Win 3-0-0
Sacred Heart had a lot of firsts in the 2003-04 season, including their first ever season series sweep of Mercyhurst. The Pioneers took the first two games in a weekend series in Milford, CT by identical scored of 5-2 over the visiting Lakers. SHU then took the third game of the season series with a 3-2 overtime win at Mercyhurst.
SHU took control of both games in the second period, outscoring Mercyhurst 5-0 in the middle frame. Freshman Pierre-Luc O'Brien and sophomore Rocco Molinaro lead the Pioneers attack as they combined for five goals and two assists in the two games.
Junior Garrett Larson scored both of the Pioneers goals in regulation, including the game-tying goal at 16:18 of the third period. O'Brien then continued his success against the Lakers as he scored the shorthanded game-winning goal in overtime to give Sacred Heart a 3-2 win. Junior goaltender Kevin LaPointe made 86 saves in the three games against the Lakers.
