March 9, 2009

Fairfield, CT - Junior Dave Jarman (Toronto, ON) has been named the Atlantic Hockey Player of the Week for the week of March 2-8. Jarman tallied four points in the Pioneers win over the University of Connecticut in the first round of the Atlantic Hockey Playoffs.

Jarman factored in on all four goals in the Pioneers win over UConn Saturday night, tallying two goals and two assists. The junior got the offense rolling by scoring SHU's first goal midway through the first period. He then assisted on the second goal before scoring what proved to be the game-winning goal midway through the third period. To cap off the victory, Jarman got the primary assist on an empty-net goal in the final seconds. Jarman now has 11 goals, third most on the team.

Sacred Heart will travel to Air Force for the Atlantic Hockey quarterfinals this weekend. The best-of-three series will be held Friday-Sunday at the Cadet Ice Arena in Colorado Springs, CO. All games will begin at 9:05 pm ET.
