The Pioneers are set for their final two games of the regular season, when then travel to Erie, PA to face off with the Mercyhurst Lakers in a crucial two-game series. Both teams enter the weekend in a three-way second place tie in the league with Canisius while Holy Cross is one point behind the trio. Home ice in the first round has yet to be decided, with four teams competing for the final three spots making this weekends games of the highest importance.
Sacred Heart is looking to rebound from a weekend sweep at the hands of new conference leaders Quinnipiac in a home and home set. Friday night in Northford the Pioneers battled back from a 3-1 second period deficit to tie the game entering the third before giving up a pair of goals, including an empty netter and on Saturday in Milford the Bobcats scored three in the second period on their way to a second 5-3 win over SHU.
