FAIRFIELD, CT - The Sacred Heart Department of Athletic Communications will again partner with WICC 600 AM to broadcast Pioneer post-season games, continuing a relationship started last season and expanded for the 2006-07 seasons.
The action will begin Thursday night when the second-seeded men's basketball team takes on Wagner College in the first round of the Northeast Conference Tournament at 7:00 p.m. Should the Pioneers advance to the semi-finals, that game will be aired on Sunday at 4:00 p.m.
The first round game for the women's basketball team will be broadcast on Saturday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. The opponent will be determined later this evening, when regular-season play concludes.
The quarter-final game in Atlantic Hockey for the top-seeded men's ice hockey team will be broadcast on Saturday, March 10 at 7:00 p.m. against the winner of the Canisius-AIC play-in game.
Jeff Holtz, the "Voice of the Pioneers", and SHU Assistant Director of Athletics, Gene Gumbs - "the Other Voice of the Pioneers" will call the action for all the games. The games will also be available on the athletic website, sacredheartpioneers.com.
WICC 600 AM, the largest AM radio station in Southern Connecticut, broadcast 37 Pioneer regular season men's games this season.
