Bear Trapp Named Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Week
Feb. 20, 2006
Fairfield, CT - Pioneer freshman ice hockey forward Bear Trapp (Regina, SK) was named Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Week for the week of February 13th-19th. It's the fourth time this year that Trapp has garnered the honor.
Trapp was once again a strong offensive force for the Pioneers this weekend. Friday night he assisted on two of the Pioneers power play goals and scored another, a goal that turned out to be the game winning goal. It was Trapp's sixth game winner of the season, tying him for the most game winning goals of anyone in the country. Trapp is second on the Pioneers with 36 points, including 13 goals and 23 assists on the season.
The Pioneers (18-10-2, 15-7-2 AHA) currently sit in third place in the Atlantic Hockey standings, one point behind second place Mercyhurst and four in back of Holy Cross for first. Sacred Heart and Holy Cross will face each other in a home and home series this weekend. The opening game is Friday night in Worcester, MA, with the rematch Saturday at the Milford Ice Pavilion. Game time both nights is 7:00 pm.
