Men's Ice Hockey Game Notes: Pioneers Gear Up for Two Conference Clashes

FAIRFIELD, CT (February 11) - The Pioneers are looking to avenge their only home loss of the season, when they travel to Worcester, MA to face off with defending conference champions Holy Cross. The Pioneers then return home for a home date with American International. The Pioneers won the only previous meeting this season with the Yellow Jackets.

Sacred Heart is coming off a dramatic 2-1 victory over the Army Black Knights in West Point, NY. After falling behind late in the second period, the Pioneers rallied in the third scoring twice to come away with just their third road win of the season. Junior Andrew Billinghurst knotted the score at 1-1 7:29 into the period on the power play before tallying the game winner with just 1:26 on the clock. Kevin LaPointe made 29 saves, including several key saves in the final minute to preserve the victory.
