Fairfield, CT - Junior Bear Trapp (Balcarres, SK) has been named the Atlantic Hockey Player of the Week for the week of January 28-February 4. It's the second time this year Trapp has been named the league's top player.
Trapp became the first player in SHU history to record six points in one game when he tallied two goals and four assists in the Pioneers win over Canisius Friday night. Trapp figured in on six of Sacred Heart's seven goals, scoring the third and sixth goals and assisting on numbers one, two, four and seven. The record setting night vaulted Trapp back into the team lead in scoring with eight goals and a team leading 18 assists, 26 points on the year.
The Pioneers will face UConn in a home-and-home series this weekend. The series opens Friday night in Storrs and concludes Saturday night at the Milford Ice Pavilion.
