O'Brien Named Atlantic Hockey Player of the Week

Fairfield, CT - Pioneer junior ice hockey forward Pierre-Luc O'Brien (Nicolet, QC) was named Atlantic Hockey Player of the Week Monday.

O'Brien led the Pioneers offense to a second place finish in the Providence College Hockey Holiday Classic. He was the key spark in a 5-1 win over Brown in the opening round of the tournament, scoring two goals and adding two assists. O'Brien capped off a three goal Pioneer first period with a goal as time expired, then opened the scoring in the third period, finishing off a give-and-go rush. For his performance, O'Brien was named to the All-Tournament team. O'Brien has now regained the team lead in goal scoring with 10 goals to go along with 16 assists for a team high 26 points.

O'Brien and the Pioneers (9-7-1, 6-5-1 AHA) return to the ice Tuesday when they visit Bentley in Atlantic Hockey action. Face off is slated for 7:30 pm.
