Trapp Nabs Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Week

Jan. 2, 2006

Fairfield, CT - Pioneer freshman ice hockey forward Bear Trapp (Regina, SK) was named Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Week Monday. It's the third time this year that Trapp has garnered the honor.

Trapp had an assist on four of Sacred Heart's five goals against Brown in the opening round of the Providence Tournament. His best helper came on the Pioneers fourth goal early in the third period when he and Pierre-Luc O'Brien (Nicolet, QC) executed a perfect give-and-go rush up the ice that ended in a goal. Trapp is now second on the team in scoring, netting nine goals and adding 13 assists for a total of 22 points on the season.

Trapp and the Pioneers (9-7-1, 6-5-1 AHA) return to the ice Tuesday when they visit Bentley in Atlantic Hockey action. Face off is slated for 7:30 pm.
