Sacred Heart To Offer Free Admission To Men’s Hockey Home Opener On Saturday

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart Department of Athletics announced a special offer on Tuesday for the men's hockey season opener on Saturday, Oct. 12 against Rensselaer at Webster Bank Arena.

Sacred Heart is offering free admission for all fans for Saturday's game as the Pioneers take on the Engineers at 1 p.m. Fans can come down to Webster Bank Arena Saturday to receive their free ticket for the game. Last season, the Pioneers hosted Atlantic Hockey opponents Mercyhurst, Holy Cross, AIC, Canisius, Air Force, and Connecticut as well as Princeton at Webster Bank Arena. The arena was also the site of one of the biggest wins in program history when Sacred Heart defeated then-#8 Yale 7-6 on November 22, 2011 with current senior Chad Filteau (Regina, Sask.) scoring the game-winning goal.

SHU Shuttles will also be providing transportation for students to get to both Saturday's game at Webster Bank Arena via the Transit/Taft Shuttle. It will also provide transportation to the Wednesday, Oct. 16 game against Bentley at Milford Ice Pavilion via the Transit/Blackrock Shuttle.
