(Fairfield, CT) – The Atlantic Hockey Association announced its All-Academic Team, with 12 Sacred Heart Pioneers making the list for posting a 3.0 GPA or better through both semesters of the 2011-12 academic season.
Sacred Heart University and the Athletic Department were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former men's ice hockey player Garrett Larson over the weekend. Larson died in a motor vehicle accident in his hometown of Rycroft, Alberta, Canada. A 2005 graduate of Sacred Heart, Larson was 31 and leaves to mourn his wife Jenn and three children.

After forcing a decisive game three with Saturday's 4-2 win, the Sacred Heart men's ice hockey team's season came to an end Sunday night at the hands of the Bentley Falcons, losing 5-0 at Ryan Skating Arena. The Falcons win the series, 2-1 and advance on in the Atlantic Hockey Playoffs. The Pioneers end the season at 6-28-3 overall.

(West Point, NY) – Matt Gingera (Winnipeg, MB) and Eric Delong (Oakville, MB) both scored twice, helping lead the Sacred Heart Men’s Hockey team to a 5-3 victory over Army Saturday night in the regular season finale to complete a weekend sweep of the Black Knights. With the win, the Pioneers bumped themselves up to the number 11 seed in next weekend’s Atlantic Hockey Tournament and travel to Bentley to take on the sixth-seeded Falcons in the best-of-three first round series.
Milford, CT- In a season worth of struggles, Friday night proved to be a bright spot for the Sacred Heart Men’s Hockey team. Worcester, MA- The Men’s Ice Hockey team took to the ice on Friday night in search of their second win in a row, four second-period goals by the Crusaders charged Holy Cross to a 6-1 win over the Pioneers Friday night at the Hart Center.
