Fairfield, CT - Sacred Heart University's Director of Golf / Men's Head Coach Michael Giaquinto today announced the fall portion of the 2004-2005 campaign. Once again, the Pioneers will play a tough fall schedule in preparation for the spring schedule which will feature the Northeast Conference Championship. "This fall schedule will be a good test as we position ourselves for the spring season and a run at the Northeast Conference Championship." Coach Giaquinto statet, he is entering his fourth year at the helm. "We have solid leadership coming back and we had a tremendous recruiting class...led by Patrick Fillian, who has qualified to play in the US Amateur Championship at Winged Foot Country Club this week." The Pioneers will tee-it-up beginning against conference foe Central Connecticut State University September 17th-19th. The Dartmouth College Men's Invitational will follow on September 25th-26th in Hanover New Hampshire. October will be a busy month for the Pioneers beginning with the 15th and 16th, which will feature the Hofstra Fall Invitational at Bethpage State Park. The 17th and 19th will bring the Pioneers to the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) two day event at the Captains Golf Course in Brewster, MA. The fall campaign will be wrapped up with the Toski Invitational on October 24th and 25th. "I'm confident that we will be ready to play competitive golf this year," Giaquinto said. "We are optimistic that we have the foundation to be recognized as one of the premier programs in the Northeast." The spring schedule will be released in February.
