Sacred Heart golfers David Renski (North Stonington, CT) and Martin Crane (Danbury, CT) have both earned a spot in the 107th Connecticut Amateur Championship to be held on June 22nd through 26th at the Woodway Country Club in Darien. The two played their way into this year's championship behind strong finishes at the sectional qualifiers.

Renski was the top-golfer in his sectional held at the Clinton Country Club in Clinton, CT. Renski finished at the top of the leaderboard after scorching the field with a 67 (-5) on the par 72, 6,501 yard course. Renski was four strokes better then his next competitor.

Crane earned a spot in the Championship field by finishing tied for 27th to make the cut. Crane shot a 78 (+6) in the sectional held on the par 72, 6,662 yard H Smith Richardson Golf Course.

The duo now move on to the Championship Qualifying Round where 36 holes will determine the 32 golfers who will move on to the Match Play portion of the Championship tournament.
