AMHERST, MA - Freshman Pat Fillian shot a one-under 71 on the second day of the Toski Invitational to help the Pioneers finish the two-day event at the Hickory Ridge Country Club in third place. Laval University won the event with a total score of 590, followed by Harvard in second at 601 and then the Pioneers at 614.

Another encouraging sign for the Pioneers was the fact they finished ahead of fellow NEC members Central Connecticut and Quinnipiac. Central finished fourth, four strokes behind SHU, while Quinnipiac was seven strokes behind in fifth.

Tom Campbell was the next highest finisher for the Pioneers, shooting a +9 153 in 14th place. Albert Ruggerio was next in 25th place, followed by Mike Giaquinto in 44th.
