AMHERST, MA - Freshman Patrick Fillian fired a one over par 73 on Sunday to help the Sacred Heart University men's golf team sit in third place after the first day at the Toski Invitational at Hickory Ridge Country Club. Laval University finished the day in first place with a 295, followed by Harvard at 299 and the Pioneers at 301.

Tommy Campbell finished with a 74 for the Pioneers and sits in ninth place in the medalist race. Albert Ruggerio was also solid for SHU, shooting a 75, good for 12th place.

Also scoring for the Pioneers were Rob Thurston with a 79 and Mike Giaquinto with an 82.

The tournament continues with the second round on Monday.
