WALLINGFORD, CT - Freshman Patrick Fillian shot a 74 and Tommy Campbell fired a 78 to help the Sacred Heart men's golf team to a second-place finish in the Quinnipiac Bobcat Invitational Friday afternoon.

Fillian's score put him in second place in the medalist race behind Jordan Burke of the University of Connecticut, who shot a 70 to help the Huskies win the event. UConn shot a 305, finishing eight strokes ahead of the Pioneers and 17 strokes ahead of Quinnipiac in third place. Fairfield University finished fourth at 325, while Boston University was fifth with a 327.

Campbell finished in seventh place overall with his 78. Albert Ruggerio was eighth for the Pioneers with a 79, while Nick Giaquinto, Jr. had an 82 in 15th place and Rob Thurston an 85 in 17th.

The Pioneers will be in action again on Sunday and Monday at the Toski Invitational in Hadley, MA.
