CHARLESTOWN, R.I. (October 14, 2007) - The Sacred Heart men's golf team finished the final round of the 2007 ECAC Championship Sunday one stroke shy of the low team score for the day, vaulting the team to a second place finish at this year's event. The Pioneers shot a 297 on Sunday, four strokes better then Saturday's 18-holes to finish with a two-day total of 598, +2 for the event and two-strokes behind champion St. Bonaventure.

The Pioneers Sunday score of 297 was just a stroke behind Dartmouth College for the low round. The Pioneers jumped up to second after finishing Saturday in fifth place.

SHU's top-golfer was sophomore Adam Petrasovic (Tecumseh, Ontario) who finished tied for third overall at the event with a 146 (72-74), two stroke off the lead. Sean Curtin from Iona won the event with a pair of matching 72's at the par 71, 7,006 yard Shelter Harbor Golf Club course.

Senior Patrick Fillian (Tinton Falls, NY) finished tied for eighth place with a 147 (72-75). The big mover for the Pioneers was senior Tommy Campbell (Wall, NJ) who rebounded from an 83 on Saturday to fire a 74 on Sunday's 18-holes.

Junior Kevin Lauretti (Newington, CT) took five strokes off his Saturday score to shoot a 74 on Sunday as well, helping SHU secure their second place finish.
