HANOVER, NH - Junior Andrew Strom (Endwell, NY) fired an even par 71 to help the Sacred Heart men's golf team into a third-place tie after the first round of the Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
Strom's 71 places him fourth in the medalist race behind Jason Del Rosso of Fordham who had a 67. The Pioneer team total of 297 places them in a third-place tie with Boston College, two shots behind Yale and Central Connecticut at 295.
Freshman Joshua Salah (Gloucester, MA) finished with a 73 for the Pioneers, followed by sophomore Joseph Serrentino (Cromwell, CT) with a 76. Junior David Renski (N. Stonington, CT) was the four SHU scorer with a 77.
The tournament, being held at Hanover Country Club, will conclude tomorrow afternoon.
