Final Stats

FARMINGDALE, NY - The Sacred Heart men's golf team finished its first tournament of the year on Saturday, finishing 15th out of 18 teams at The McLaughlin hosted by St. John's University at Bethpage Red on Long Island.

Sophomore Leo Garcia (Guaynabo, PR) was the top SHU finisher with a +8-218 that placed him 38th overall.

The Pioneers went into the final round tied for tenth but carded the highest round of the afternoon by any team at 302. Coastal Carolina came from behind to nip UNC-Wilmington for the tournament title. Towson finished third.

Freshman Josh Salah (Gloucester, MA) had a solid performance in his first collegiate tournament, finishing with a 75 on Saturday and placed 49th overall out of 93 golfers in the field.

The Pioneers will be back in aciton next weekend in New Hampshire at the Dartmouth Invitational.
