FARMINGDALE, NY - Sophomore Leo Garcia (Guaynabo, PR) and Andrew Strom (Endwell, NY) both carded even-par 70's in the second round of The McLaughlin Tournament hosted by St. John's on Friday, helping the Pioneers move into a tie for 10th place in the 18-team field at Bethpage Red on Long Island.

The Pioneer two-round total of 581 ties them with Boston College in tenth, and just one stroke behind Princeton in ninth and four behind UConn in eighth. UNC-Wilmington continues to lead at 556 with Coastal Carolina and Towson just a stroke back.

Freshman Josh Salah (Gloucester, MA) followed up his first round 72 with a 73 in round two. Junior David Renski (N. Stonington, CT) improved on his first-round 74 by one stroke.

The tournament concludes with the third round on Saturday.
