Day 1 Results

The Sacred Heart men's golf team got their 2005-06 season underway on Sunday, taking part in the Dartmouth Invitational at the Hanover Country Club. The Pioneers are currently in 7th place after 36 holes in the 13 team tournament.

Johnson & Wales University (North Miami, Florida), the 2005 NAIA national champion, is at the top with 587, followed by Central Connecticut at 604. Dartmouth is third with 608. The Pioneers are currently five strokes behind Quinnipiac for sixth.

SHU sophomore Tom Campbell (Wall, NJ) is sitting in seventh place overall after the first day of competition with rounds of 77-72-145. Teammate Matthew Belizze (North Salem, NY) is also in the top-15 golfers with a first day score of 76-76-152 to put him 13th.

Adam Scrimenti of Johnson & Wales leads with a one-over par score of 143 (70-73).

The tournament concludes on Monday with 18 holes.
