Lopatcong, NJ (May 3, 2004) - The Sacred Heart University men's golf team is tenth after the first day of the Northeast Conference Championship. Senior Dustin Ledda (Torrington, CT) is leading the way for the Pioneers with an 81, good for 21st overall.

Ledda is just one shot from the top-twenty and is three strokes from the top-ten.

Junior Mike Giaquinto (Fairfield, CT) is tied for 30th with an 84 while junior Kevin Gordon (Floral Park, NY) is close behind with an 85. Freshmen Rob Thurston (Newton, MA) and Albert Ruggiero (Sudbury, MA) are tied with and opening round 85.

The Championship will be decided today from the Architects Club in Lopatcong, NJ.
