Yale Spring Open Final Results
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (April 7, 2008) - The Sacred Heart men's golf team finished third at this weekend's Yale University Spring Opener, finishing three strokes off the lead with a two-round total of 588. SHU's Patrick Fillian (Tinton Falls, NJ) shot a 145 (74-71) over the two day event to tie for seventh overall in a field of 27 teams and 149 golfers.
Harvard took the team title with a two-round score of 585 at the Yale University Golf Course. Skidmore College came in second one stroke in front of the Pioneers at 587.
Freshman David Renski (North Stonington, CT) had a solid spring debut shooting matching 73's at the par 70, 6,749 yard course. His two day total of 146 earned him a 14th place finish.
Senior Tommy Campbell (Wall, NJ) shot 75 and 74 for a 149, 33rd overall. Both junior Matt Belizze (North Salem, NY) and sophomore Adam Petrasovic (Tecumseh, Ontario) both tied for 40th shooting 150. Belizze shot 75 and 75 while Petrasovic shot 73 on day one and 77 on day two.
