PORT WASHINGTON, NY (April 6, 2004) - The Sacred Heart University men's golf team opened their 2004 spring season with a sixth place finish at the Hofstra Spring Invitational at Harbor Links Golf Club in Port Washington, NY. John Molchan led the team as he finished tied for 15th place finish, shooting a +15 (159) for the weekend.

Dustin Ledda finished 22nd in the two-day event after shooting a 163, Kevin Gordon finished tied for 26th with a 168 and Al Ruggiero was tied for 30th with a 181. Mike Giaquinto finished 32nd in the Invitational with a 190.

St. John's won the event with a two-day score of 597. It was the only team to break 600 in the Invitational. The Red Storm were led by John Stoltz, who shot a +1 145 over the two days.

The Pioneers next compete at the NEIGA Division-I Championship from April 17th-18th at Triggs Country Club in Providence, RI.
