LAKEWOOD, NJ (April 3, 2006) - The Sacred Heart men's golf team is in sixth place and the women are seventh after day one of competition at the Monmouth Hawk Invitational. The two teams played 18 holes on Sunday in the first annual event held at Eagle Ridge Golf Club.

For the men, sophomore Tom Campbell (Wall, NJ) is tied for ninth overall after a first day 78 in his home state. Campbell fired a front nine 37 and a 41 on the back.

Freshman Jennifer Tierney (Danbury, CT) enters day two of competition tied for fourth overall. Tierney shot an 81 (43-38) on the par 71 course.

Play will wrap up on Monday morning in the two day, 36 hole event.
