Monmouth Invitational Day One Results

LAKEWOOD, N.J. - Sacred Heart senior Patrick Fillian (Tinton Falls, NJ) fired a two-under par 70 to lead the Pioneers on day one of the fourth annual Monmouth Hawk Invitational Saturday afternoon. Fillian holds a two-stroke lead on the field while SHU is just a stroke behind Lafayette for the overall lead in the first event of the spring season.

Fillian shot a 36 on the front nine and came back with a 34 on the back nine at the Eagle Ridge Golf Course in Lakewood, New Jersey. Freshman teammate Leo Garcia (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) sits tied for third after the opening 18 holes with a two-over 74.

Rounding out the SHU top-four was sophomore David Renski (North Stonington, CT) and senior Kevin Lauretti (Newington, CT) who are tied for 19th overall with matching 79's on Saturday.

The final round will conclude on Sunday.
