Men's Golf Third After Day One of Monmouth Invite

LAKEWOOD, NJ - The Sacred Heart men's golf team sits in a third-place tie after the first round of the Hawk Invitational, hosted by Monmouth University. The Pioneers are tied with the host school at 301, six strokes behind co-leaders Rider and Bucknell.

The Pioneers sit one stroke ahead of St. Francis (PA) and five strokes clear of Lafayette in fifth place at 306.

Junior David Renski (N. Stonington, CT) and freshman Josh Salah led the Pioneers with one-over par 73's to sit in fourth place in the individual standings. Leo Garcia (Guaynabo, PR) is 11th with a 75 and Joseph Serrentino (Cromwell, CT) shot an 80 to sit in 35th out of 60 golfers.

The tournament, being played at Eagle Ridge Golf Club, concludes tomorrow.
