DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Sacred Heart men's golf team finished third at the annual Lonnie Barton Invitational held at LPGA International, Hills Course on Tuesday afternoon.
Senior AJ Correia and sophomore Alex Manner paced the Pioneers scoring group as both golfers finished at +8 over the two-day event. Sophomore Hector Gutierrez finished tied for 23rd at +13. Junior Matt Shubley rounded out the scoring group with a score of +15 to finish in 29th. Sophomore Jacob Henny placed tied for 30th after posting 80 in both rounds. Sophomore Connor Cunningham finished tied for 18th after shooting a 77 in the final round to move up four spots on the leaderboard. Senior Tom D'Andrea bounced back from an 81 in round one to shoot a 76 in round two. He moved up 14 spots on Thursday with his day-two score to tie for 23rd. Junior Curtis Quinn finished tied for 36th with a score of +17. Freshman Clifford Lindholm shot a score of 81 in the final round to finish the tournament tied for 58th place.
Sacred Heart finished the two-round tournament with a team score of +44 (620). Ahead of the Pioneers were the Longwood and Fort Wayne. Lancers took home the title, finishing the tournament at +15. Fort Wayne p
The Pioneers will return to the course on Saturday, March 25th as they compete in the Towson Spring Invite.
