Men’s Golf Finishes the Macdonald Cup in 14th Place

NEW HAVEN, Conn.— The Sacred Heart men's golf team concluded play at The Macdonald Cup Sunday at The Course at Yale in 14th place.

Junior Tom D'Andrea was the Pioneers top finisher at the three round tournament, tying for 38th overall. D'Andrea finished nine-over par, his one-over par in the second round was his best round of the weekend. A.J. Corriera and Hector Gutierrez both finished tied for 51st overall at +11. Correia shot a final round of 73 and Gutierrez shot a final round of 71. Junior Connor Cunnigham placed 64th overall at +13. Freshman Clifford Lindholm finiched tied for 74th at +17.

The Pioneers were +43 for the tournament, shooting their best team round of 292 on Sunday. They would finish three strokes behind Fordham for 14th place. Harvard would win the tournament finishing at an even par. Stirling University finished behind them at +2.

Sacred Heart will compete in The Connecticut Cup next week at Ellington Country Club on Monday and Tuesday Oct.10-11.
