FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart men's golf team has been picked to finish tied for fifth in the 2014 Northeast Conference Coaches' Poll, released on Monday. The Pioneers shared the fifth spot with Robert Morris, with both teams receiving a first-place vote.

Will Smittle (Scarsdale, N.Y.), Dominic Formato (Queens, N.Y.), and AJ Correia (Bedford, N.H.) all had one top-20 finish this fall. As a team, Sacred Heart had three top-10 finishes this fall. The Pioneers finished fourth at the CCSU Fall Invitational, seventh at the Hartford Hawk Invitational, and 10th at The Adams Cup of Newport.
Bryant was picked first in the coaches' poll, receiving four first place votes. Central Connecticut was second, followed by defending champs Saint Francis U and Fairleigh Dickinson. LIU Brooklyn was selected seventh with Wagner and St. Francis Brooklyn rounding out the poll.
Sacred Heart opens its 2014 spring season on March 10 with the opening round of the Lonnie Barton Invitational.
