FAIRFIELD, CT - The Sacred Heart football team, coming off its first victory of the season, will travel to Pittsburgh this Saturday to take on the Duquesne University Dukes at 1:00 p.m. in a rematch of the 2001 ECAC Bowl. The Pioneers are coming off a 27-16 win over Iona last weekend.

Sacred Heart is 16-12 all-time against teams from the MAAC. They lost to Marist 28-19 this season. The only team from the MAAC that the Pioneers have never played is LaSalle.

Scott Knapp threw for 269 yards and a career-high four touchdowns to lead Duquesne to a convincing 41-10 win over Saint Francis in the Dukes' home opener at Rooney Field last week. Knapp, who completed 18-of-28 passes on the afternoon, found Bruce Hocker for three scores in the opening 30 minutes as the Dukes jumped out to a 27-3 halftime lead.

The win was Duquesne's second in a row over a Northeast Conference school and upped the Dukes' record to 2-1. Saint Francis dropped to 1-2. The victory also extended DU's series win streak to eight games.

Knapp has already thrown eight touchdown passes in his three games, with just one interception. He has also completed nearly 63 percent of his passes. Hocker has caught seven of Knapp's TD tosses.

The Duquesne ground attack is led by senior Jeremy McCullough with 219 yards and a touchdown.

The Duke defense has already compiled ten QB sacks, led by three from freshman defensive lineman Mykol Gardiner.
