Sophomore Steve Tedesco (Mission Viejo, CA) was named the Enterprise Rent-A-Car / Sacred Heart Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of August 27th through September 2nd. Tedesco wins the first student-athlete of the week award of the 2007-08 season.

The Pioneer sophomore wide receiver caught five passes for 66 yards and three touchdowns in helping lead the team to a 41-20 win at Assumption College Thursday night. Tedesco's three scoring grabs ties the Pioneer school record for touchdown receptions in a game. The record is also held by teammate Corey Bundy and DeVeren Johnson, who accomplished the feat twice in 2001.

Tedesco hooked up twice in the first half with rookie quarterback Dale Fink. His first score came on a twisting one-handed grab on a third and long situation that gave SHU a 14-7 lead they never looked back from. The duo sent the Pioneers into the half leading 28-7 after a 14-yard strike over the middle with 10 seconds left in the half. His last touchdown was a six-yard completion from Fink on third and goal with 3:33 left in the third, SHU's final score of the half.
