FAIRFIELD, CT - Senior linebacker Jon Corto (Orchard Park, NY) was named to the Football Gazette Pre-Season All-America Team today. Corto was the lone Sacred Heart selection and was named to the Defensive First Team.

Corto finished last season with a career-high 100 tackles and 7 1/2 quarterback sacks for the Pioneers. He also had a pair of interceptions and seven pass breakups.

Sacred Heart football kicks off the 2006 season on September 2 at 2:00 p.m. at home against defending Patriot League champion Lafayette.
