Robert Morris vs. Sacred Heart - Post Game Quotes
Head Coach Paul Gorham
On his team's play on Saturday: "A positive for us is that we have been down in about 3 of the previous 4 games we were in so we know how to handle adversity. The penalties was one thing that I didn't like because I told my players all week to play with poise."
On the hard fought win: "We knew what type of team they were, our players at the end of the game had bloody noses and scratched eyes and that's why I wanted my players to play smart. So overall I think that the penalties could have been called more evenly"
On the play of Steve Tedesco: "All I can say about Tedesco is that he is a classy kid, he's a good player, and he works very hard. He came in and broke the all time touchdown receiving record in two and a half years."
Junior Wide Receiver Steve Tedesco On setting the all-time TD receiving record "I think it was a big accomplishment getting the record, but I could not have done it without my offensive line and without Dale Fink"
On his time at SHU: "Coming to Sacred Heart all the way from California was easy because I liked the people here, they accepted me, and Coach Gorham made the transition for me very easy. I've been a two sport athlete for about 5 years now so when I play two sports here at Sacred Heart I am used to it."
Senior Running Back Evin Jones
On Saturday's big win; "Our offensive line played very well today. Hands down they played their hardest from start to finish today. Being 5-0 means the world to me and the mood in the locker room is crazy."
On the Pioneers big start: "I believe our motivation was the losing seasons that we previously had. This summer we had the most guys here on campus for the offseason work outs. We had around 40 people committed from 6AM until 6PM the whole summer"
On being the focal point of the SHU running game: "Coach Gorham told me before the season to be in shape and make my conditioning test. I had not made them the previous three years but I made it this year because I knew I was going to have to be conditioned."
R-Junior Cornerback Andre Isla
On his third interception this season: "On that interception I had a certain technique where it looked like I was going to blitz but I was able to cut in front of the receiver tip it and then catch it."
On SHU's fast start: "Winning this game and being 5-0 is the best feeling in the world. We do have a big road game coming up, but this summer we had to practice at a high school field because our field was being worked on. So we are used to getting on a bus to go take care of business and coming back home."
