Week 3 - Sacred Heart vs. Duquesne Post Game Quotes
Head Coach Paul Gorham
On today's loss: "I'm happy we showed some resiliency as team but ultimately, we need success. But overall, I wouldn't say I'm happy. "Defensively, they made plays and the quarterback spread us out. He extended his time and field position killed us in the second quarter."
On the play of back-up quarterback Tyler McKeon: "We tried to ease him into it a little bit. The big pass to [Joe Henley] down the line gave him a lot of confidence and the 9-yard run at end of half when he got whacked helped too. He's the same age as Fink and had a year of prep school. He's taken almost as many reps in practice as Fink has."
On moving forward after a tough loss: "When you work that much harder, it hurts that much more. You just can't let it hurt past tomorrow and we'll move onto thinking about next week."
Senior Safety Jon Wilson
On his two big defensive plays in the fourth quarter: "The blocked punt touchdown and fumble recovery switched all the momentum, but we expect more from everyone. It wasn't just [Tyler McKeon] or the defense, it was everyone as a whole."
On today's game: "We didn't capitalize on opportunities we had and the outcome was a loss, but you come back from it and you learn from it."
Freshman Quarterback Tyler McKeon
On the overtime loss: "We just tried to put points on the board in second half and we played well and made some big plays. But obviously we're just disappointed about the way it turned out. They executed their offense well and it's hard to do certain things against their defense. We did the best we could with what we had, but came up a little short."
