Game #3 - Sacred Heart at Iona - Post Game Quotes
Redshirt-Freshman Quarterback Dale Fink
On today's 34-10 loss: "We came out and we straight got kicked up and down the field. I mean, we came out, we were a little cocky and they put us in our place. We were very prepared, but we just came out too, too cocky."
On the Pioneer mistakes: "Penalties, turnovers, we shot ourselves in the foot. We gave them 21 points. Our defense did what they were supposed to really. The offense got stopped. Which is my job to get them going and I didn't do my job today as a leader on the offense team to keep them going, but as a team effort we just got our tails kicked bad."
On moving past today's loss: "We'll look at the film tomorrow and forget about it. You can't dwell on it, that's how you get a second loss. It's over with. It's done. We have to move on, that's all you can do."
Head Coach Paul Gorham
On today's loss: "Turnovers. Turnovers, turnovers, turnovers. And I don't believe our mindset was of such that we appreciated that Iona's a good football team. I think we were disillusioned by the first two teams we played, thinking we are a little better than we are. I don't think we had the focus and concentration needed to win a game today."
On the swing of momentum on the blocked punt: "We had gotten back into it and we hadn't had a punt blocked since I've been here and that just goes right along with it today."
Sophomore Linebacker Chansler Davis
On the loss: "I think we just came out and didn't come at them like we should have. I think we just didn't step up and match their intensity."
On his performance and stepping in for an injured Robert Occhuzzi: "Everyday coach says you're a play away from somebody getting hurt and if you're a second you have to go in there and step up. Play the game."
