Assistant Coach John Svatik returned to Sacred Heart sidelines in 2004, where he had been an assistant coach in the program's inaugural season in 1991. Svatik will work on the defensive side of the ball coaching the defensive backs. Prior to returning to SHU, Svatik spent three seasons as an assistant coach at Wesleyan University after ten years as an assistant at the University of New Haven. A graduate of Western Connecticut State University where he was a three-year letter winner at quarterback for the Colonials. He was head coach at Notre Dame High School in Fairfield from 1979-87 and was later inducted into the Notre Dame Hall of Fame. He also holds a Master's degree from Sacred Heart. He and his wife Lynn have two daughters, Jennifer and Amy.
