Holtfreter was a brilliant quarterback for the Pioneers for two seasons and joined the coaching ranks at the end of his senior season. A junior college transfer from California, he obliterated all the Sacred Heart career and single-game passing records over his two seasons. He passed for over 300 yards in a game five times during his career, and set a very high standard for future QBs by passing for over 2,500 yards during the 2001 season. Holtfreter will work with the running backs this season.
