Sacred Heart Football Announces 2014 Recruiting Class

Coach Mark Nofri addresses the Pioneers following their first-ever FCS Playoff Game in 2013.

FAIRFIELD, Conn - Sacred Heart University head football Coach Mark Nofri has announced the signing of 23 players on National Signing Day that will be joining the defending Northeast Conference Champions this Fall. The class of 2018 consists of players from nine different states, including seven from New Jersey, four from Massachusetts, two from Pennsylvania, two from California, two from New York and one each from Alaska, Connecticut, Maryland and Alabama.

The Pioneers are coming off a season in which they won the 2013 Northeast Conference Championship after a 10-2 regular season, and earned the program's first-ever berth into the FCS Playoffs. Sacred Heart had ten players be named All-Northeast Conference and three players named All-Americans.

Coach Nofri had this to say about the next crop of Pioneers:

"We are excited that these student-athletes have chosen to attend Sacred Heart University and can't wait for them to become part of the SHU community, both on and off of the field. I am really happy with the job that our coaching staff did in putting together this recruiting class. We have worked extremely hard and I believe we have found some quality student-athletes that are a great fit for Sacred Heart. We are excited about what this group, combined with our returning student-athletes, will do to continue the winning tradition of Pioneer Football."
