2013: Roussel, an AP All-American as a senior, broke the Sacred Heart all-time interceptions record with 7 takeaways through the air. The record breaking INT came against Fordham in the FCS playoffs. The All-Northeast Conference second teamer hauled in three of those interceptions in a 16-0 win at Bucknell on September 28th, tying a school record. For his efforts in the Pioneers' first shutout since 2002, Roussel was named NEC Defensive Player of the Week.

2012: Played ten games as a junior for the Pioneers. Scored two touchdowns off interceptions; one a 34 yard return against CCSU, the other a 14 yarder against Robert Morris.

High School - At St. Raphael Academy, J.D. played four years of football. He was named MVP in 2010. His team won the CT vs RI All-Star Game and the 2008 State Championship. 

Personal - Full name Jean-Daniel Roussel, born on September 6, 1991. He is the son of Marie Roussel. He has five brothers; Deven, Leo, Jose and Josh. He is majoring in Marketing and getting a Master's in Communications. His favorite sports teams are the St. Louis Rams, Boston Red Sox, and Celtics. His favorite professional athlete is Kobe Bryant. His favorite TV show is Sports Center. His two role models are his mother and grandmother.
