Setting the Scene… The Sacred Heart Pioneers look for a share of the Northeast Conference when they travel to take on the Robert Morris Colonials in Moon Township, Pa. SHU is coming off a 10-0 win over Duquesne last Saturday afternoon. Junior running back Keshaudas Spence ran for 181 yards against the Dukes on his way to breaking the Sacred Heart single season rushing record. Robert Morris comes into this afternoon's game on a three game winning streak, with wins over Wagner, Bryant and Central Connecticut. Last week, the Colonials defeated CCSU 54-21 in New Britain. Quarterback Paul Jones tossed three touchdowns in the win over CCSU.
Last Time Out... Sacred Heart recorded its second shutout of the season, blanking the Duquesne Dukes 10-0 on Campus Field Saturday afternoon. Sacred Heart did not score until 6:37 left in the fourth quarter, when Chris Rogers knocked down a 31-yard field goal to give SHU a 3-0 lead. Three minutes later, Keshaudas Spence scampered into the end zone from 22 yards out to ice the game. The Sacred Heart defense snagged three interceptions and racked up five tackles for loss. The last time Sacred Heart recorded two shutouts in a season was in 2002 in back-to-back wins over Saint Francis and Robert Morris.
The winner of today's game will clinch at least a share of the NEC Title.
The Pioneers will receive the automatic bid to the FCS Playoffs in Week 12 with a:
- Win over RMU, and a Saint Francis loss.
The Colonials will receive the automatic bid in Week 12 with a:
- Win over SHU, and losses by Duquesne and Saint Francis
Head Coaches... The Pioneers will be led by second year head coach Mark Nofri in 2013. Beginning his 20th season as a member of the Pioneers coaching staff, Nofri is the longest tenured coach in Sacred Heart program history. The Pioneers were 2-9 last season with Nofri serving as the interim head coach. Nofri is also the long time linebackers coach for the Pioneers, turning out several All-Conference and All-American linebackers including Jayson Jarrett '01, Kayode Mayowa '02, Craig Capurso '02, Jon Corto '06 and Chris Mandas '11. J oe Walton started the Robert Morris football program from scratch and has led the Colonial program to a 115-90-1 record. Under Walton's directions, Robert Morris has claimed six Northeast Conference titles. Walton spent seven seasons playing in the NFL for the Washington Redskins and New York Giants. He was the head coach of the New York Jets from 1983 through 1989.
Series Notes...This will be the 16th meeting between the Pioneers and Colonials.

- The Colonials defeated Sacred Heart 21-17 last Fall in Fairfield. Jeff Sinclair threw a game-winning touchdown to Nick Groat with 35 seconds left in the game.
- SHU's last win at Robert Morris came in 2011, 27-15.
Up Next…This is the last regular season game for the Pioneers after playing twelve straight weeks. If Sacred Heart advances to the FCS playoffs, it would play on the weekend following Thanksgiving.
