Sean Bell Named Northeast Conference Offensive Player of the Week

Fairfield, CT (September 16, 2013) – Junior running back Sean Bell (Medford Lakes. NJ) was named this week's Northeast Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

Bell rushed for a career high 205 yards on 18 carries in the 45-3 victory over the Lincoln Lions on Saturday night, as the Pioneers are now 3-0. The junior averaged an incredible 11.4 yards per carry and became only the ninth pioneer in history to rush for over 200 yards in a game and the first since Evin Jones rushed for 210 yards against Assumption in 2008. The 11.4 yards per carry ranks third all-time in SHU history with a minimum of ten attempts in a game.

Bell has rushed for 259 yards so far this season, which ranks third on the team behind Keshaudas Spence (Dorchester, MA), and RJ Noel (Lowell, MA). Bell is averaging 6.1 yards per carry.
