• Pioneer Football Plays Annual Red & White Spring Game

    The Sacred Heart football team hosted their annual Red & White Spring Game on Saturday afternoon with the defensive unit coming out on top. The defense forced five turnovers in the game but the offense got solid performances from Rich Rossi (Moosic, PA) and Gregory Ibe (Queens, NY).
  • SHU Football Finalizes 2011 Recruiting Class

    Sacred Heart University head football coach Paul Gorham announced the addition of 10 student-athletes to the incoming recruiting class for 2011. They will join 12 other student-athletes who signed National Letters of Intent as well as four other student-athletes already enrolled at SHU to make up this year’s class.

    Sacred Heart head football coach Paul Gorham announced that seniors quarterback Dale Fink (Swansea, IL), senior offensive lineman Justin Smith (Binghamton, NY), senior defensive end Bill O'Brien (Lafayette, NY) and senior safety Rashod Underwood (Baltimore, MD) have been named team captains for the 2010 season.

    The Sacred Heart football team is in the midst of Spring Practice as they get prepare for training camp this summer and the 2010 season. SHU is gearing up for their 20th season on the gridiron as the season kicks-off on September 3rd at Marist.
  • Sacred Heart Pioneers Announce 2010 Football Schedule

    FAIRFIELD, Conn. (March 17, 2010) - Sacred Heart head coach Paul Gorham and the Pioneers announced their 11-game schedule for the 2010 season on Wednesday afternoon. The 2010 season marks the Pioneers 20th season of competition and will feature first-ever meetings with Dartmouth and Georgetown.
  • Pioneer Football Participates in Read Aloud Program

    The Sacred Heart football team has dedicated part of this offseason to working with the University Community Outreach programs. Several Pioneers take part in the Read Aloud program at Columbus Elementary in Bridgeport and have volunteered their time at the Feel the Warmth Community Supper Program at the United Congregational Church of Bridgeport.
  • Sacred Heart Football Gets 16 Commitments on National Signing Day

    Sacred Heart University head football coach Paul Gorham announced the signing of 14 student-athletes to National Letters of Intent as well as receiving commitments from two other student-athletes for the 2010 season. This year’s recruiting class includes players from the states of California, Connecticut, Florida, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York and West Virginia.
