Six From Men's Fencing Team Named All-Conference
FAIRFIELD, CT - The Sacred Heart University men's fencing team also had six student-athletes named to the Northeast Fencing Conference All-League teams. First team selections include freshmen Ethan Patterson and Jared Rebeor in foil, sophomore Justin Dion in epee and sophomore Marty Williams in saber. Head coach Dr. Thomas Vrabel was also named the Men's Coach of the Year by the league members.

Men's Fencing Finishes 18th in NCAA Championships
CAMBRIDGE, MA - The Sacred Heart men's fencing team, appearing in its first NCAA Championship, finished 18th out of 27 schools that qualified for the tournament held at Harvard. The NCAA fencing championship is a combined championship that compiles the results of a schools mens and womens team participants. Each team receives one point for each victory that one of their fencers earned.

Dion and Williams Qualify for NCAA Fencing Championships
FAIRFIELD, CT - For the first time in school history, Sacred Heart University will send two members of its men's fencing team to the NCAA Division I Championships at Harvard next week. Sophomores Justin Dion (N. Attleboro, MA) and Marty Williams (Plainfield, NJ) worked their way through 23 bouts during the NCAA Northeast Regionals at Brown University on Sunday to earn one of the eight coveted spots in each weapon.

Pioneers win the New England Intercollegiate Fencing Tournament Championship
BOSTON, MA - The Pioneer men's fencing team completed the team portion of their season with their first ever championship at the New England Intercollegiate Fencing Tournament. The foil squad went 33-2 on their way to winning the foil squad championship and the Silvio Vitale Cup.
