FAIRFIELD, CT - Former Sacred Heart University men's basketball star Brice Brooks has signed with the Kaiserslautern Braves of the German ProA League for the upcoming season. The ProA League is the second highest professional league in Germany.

Brooks, a 6'8" center while at SHU, will be one of three Americans playing for the Braves, joining Mike Dean from the University of Georgia and Marcus Smallwood from Northern Illinois University.

The Silverdale, WA product averaged 12.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game in 2007-08, helping the Pioneers to their second straight NEC Championship Game appearance.

"Brice really improved his game throughout his career," said SHU head coach Dave Bike. "He worked very hard and helped the team to 36 wins in the last two years. This is the payoff for all that hard work."

Brooks joins several former Pioneers who have gone on to pro careers in Europe including Kibwe Trim, Maurice Bailey, Janik Tuffel, Andrew Hunter and Todd Williams.
