The most improved player on the team last season. Has the potential to be a dominating frontcourt player with good size and strength. Has a very soft shooting touch from the outside.

2003-04: Set a new career high with four assists against UConn in the opener. 2002-03: Missed his first game of the season on 2/20 against UMBC because of a mild concussion. Had a string of 12 straight starts snapped 2/13 against CCSU. Played more minutes than he did combined his first two years. Had a career-high 12 points against Puerto Rico-Mayaguez and also played a career-high 34 minutes. Had a career-high 11 rebounds against Duquesne. 2001-02: Played 17 games as a backup forward and center. Scored a season-high four points three times. Played a career-high 20 minutes on 12/1/01 at Fairleigh Dickinson University. 2000-01: Appeared in 22 games and made four starts as a Pioneer freshman. Averaged 1.6 points and 1.4 rebounds per game. Scored a career-high eight points in loss to Wagner on 2/17/01 and grabbed six rebounds in his Pitt Center debut against Rider on 11/27/00.

High School: As senior captain, led Coronado High School to the District 3-5A Championship with his 14 points and eight rebounds per game. Voted the District 3-5A MVP his junior and senior seasons and was named All-City and All-South Plains as a senior. Selected to play in the Oil Bowl All-Star game.

Personal: Son of Jim and Gail Spivey. Has two brothers, Ryan and Curtis. Majoring in Business Administration. Enjoys hunting and fishing when he has the opportunity. Favorite book is Success is a Choice by Rick Pitino. Favorite movies are Rudy and Hoosiers. Favorite team is the San Antonio Spurs. Favorite food is barbecued chicken.
