BABSON PARK, Mass.— Recent graduate Dan Schock of the Sacred Heart University baseball team was named to the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association Division All-New England second team on Tuesday.
The All-New England honor comes one week after Schock earned All-Northeast Conference First Team honors as an outfielder. He started all 52 games for SHU in his senior campaign, leading the team in 10 offensive categories with a .311 batting average, .390 on base percentage and 57 hits along with 14 doubles. He recorded 16 multi-hit games and 13 multi-RBI showings in the heart of the Pioneer lineup.
The sweet-swinging right fielder led the NEC with 13 home runs and ranked fourth with 45 runs batted in. His .623 slugging percentage ranked second among the league leaders. He ended his career tied for second all-time in the SHU baseball record book with 28 home runs, setting a new Division I program record.
Schock was one of seven NEC players among the 42 NEIBA honorees from 15 different schools in New England.
