SHU Baseball Slotted Fifth in Second NEIBA Poll

FAIRFIELD, Conn – The Sacred Heart baseball team moved down one slot to number five in this week's New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association Poll.

Sacred Heart is coming off a 10-2 win over St. John's on Saturday afternoon to improve the Pioneers record to 10-8 on the season. Senior Kody Kerski (Waterbury, CT) was once again stellar, pitching six scoreless innings to earn his fourth win of the season. Kerski's 0.27 earned run average this season ranks third in the country. Freshman Zack Short (Hurley, NY) was named NEC Rookie of the Week this week after he went 2-for-4 at the dish against the Red Storm with two runs scored.

The Pioneers will play a mid-week game at Stony Brook tomorrow afternoon, before beginning NEC play this weekend at Fairleigh Dickinson.
