Kristin Emerick joined the Sacred Heart athletic training staff in August of 2011 where she began her first year working with the women’s ice hockey team and the men’s and women’s tennis teams. She currently is the Athletic Trainer for men’s ice hockey as well as women’s bowling and women’s swimming. Kristin is also the Secondary Insurance Coordinator, and preceptor and Adjunct Professor for the Athletic Training Education Program at Sacred Heart University. In her now 6th season with the Pioneers Kristen works with the Men's Hockey, bowling, and swimming teams.
· Graduated from Quinnipiac University with a Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training/Sports Medicine in 2009. She gained experience with Yale football and Quinnipiac's men’s basketball, softball, and men’s and women’s cross country teams.
· Completed her Masters of Education in Health Education in 2011 at Penn State. She also worked with the co-ed cheerleading, men’s and women’s gymnastics, intramural sports, and men’s and women’s rugby during her time at Penn State.
Emerick was born and raised in Stamford,Conn. She played ice hockey at Quinnipiac University and was named the Assistant Captain her junior year. After suffering a career-ending injury, she now has a greater respect for her profession and a unique perspective into both the mental and physical aspects of sports.
