A lifelong resident of Connecticut, Peterson begins his seventh year as a member of Sacred Heart's Athletic Communications Department. He first gained experience in Athletic Communications as an undergraduate intern at Central Connecticut State University. In 1997, after earning his baccalaureate degree in Communications, with concentrations in Business and Public Relations, Peterson stayed with CCSU an additional year as the Assistant Sports Information Director, having the opportunity to work at the 1998 NCAA National Basketball Tournament in Hartford. During that time, Peterson also coached football at Wolcott High School (Wolcott, CT) and boy's basketball St. Rose School (Newtown, CT). In the summer of 2002, he accepted the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications position at Sacred Heart University under director Gene Gumbs. His main responsibilities include, but are not limited to, women's basketball, men's & women's lacrosse, women's soccer, women's volleyball, cross country, track & field, men & women's tennis and men and women's golf. Originally from Wolcott, Peterson and his wife Kristy currently reside in Bridgeport, CT
